Choosing fastener size is not only a catalog task. The wrong diameter, length, or thread pitch can cause poor clamp load, thread stripping, loose joints, or installation delays. For buyers, the safest approach is to define the assembly first, then select the fastener.

Use coarse threads for general assembly, faster installation, and softer materials. Use fine threads where adjustment, vibration control, or limited engagement length requires closer thread spacing. Always follow the drawing or engineering standard.
